How to Change your HP Officejet Pro 6964 Ink Cartridges Refill

1. Open the printer’s ink cartridge access door and let the carriage move to the ink cartridge access area before you continue.
2. Press the front tab of the old ink cartridge inward to free it, then pull up the device to separate it from the slot.
3. Unpack the new ink cartridge, then pull its orange pull-tab backward. Be sure to get rid of the orange pull-tab completely before removing the orange cap, or ink may leak from the cartridge. 
4. Hold the ink cartridge along the sides, then turn the protective orange cap until it snaps off. Don’t touch the ink nozzles or copper-colored contacts. Touching such parts may result in ink failure.
5. Gently bend tab from the ink cartridge. Do not bend the tab for more than half an inch because it can break the tab or damage the device.
6. Position the ink cartridge such that the contacts are facing downward, then match the carriage’s color dot with the label color.
7. Insert the cartridge into the slot, then gently push the device down until it locks into position.
8. Repeat these steps when installing the new color ink cartridges, then close the machine’s ink cartridge access door.
